Am very pleased to announce the ‘Bicentennial Landmark Painting Project’ Exhibition, curated by Brooke Alderson, Bovina, NY. The idea was that a selected group of painters were assigned an old photo to paint of a home or business from long ago. This was in celebration of Bovina’s Bicentennial. I painted the ‘Hilson House’, (no longer standing) on Main St. The figure in the painting was a daughter of the Hilson family. And she is standing with her cat in front of her house on Main St.
For the first time these paintings by all the artists of many of the old buildings, extant or not, will be shown together at the Bovina Library, opening Sat. 2/25 @ 5pm. There will be an opening reception with food and drink. Will be a festive occasion for sure!
